Happy First Day of Fall!

Fall is my favorite season. Living in Austin though I kind of miss out. Our fall is still green and temperatures are still in the 70's to 80's. I miss that crisp feeling of true fall and of course all the colors. Last year I got to see some of Oregon's fall. You don't realize how foreign some things that were a part of your life for so many years, like changing fall leaves, can quickly become when you've been away from them. What I'd really love this fall is a trip home to Missouri for a football weekend. Not sure that will happen but here are some things that I'm excited about this fall:
  • Watching Missouri football even if it is at home or a bar. I'm actually going to check out the Mizzou alumni watch party this Friday.
  • My friend Tara's wedding. I am excited about this wedding because I think it is going to be so fun. Tara's going to sing, her dad is going to sing, I'll experience my first "Grand March" and more.
  • Maybe Austin City Limits Music Festival, or ACL. Maybe because I'm not sure if I'm going or not. I'm not excited about the line-up this year but I know that if I do go I'll get excited, especially over bands I've been wanting to see like Bon Iver.
  • Wilco!!!! I cannot wait to see Wilco again! I'm serious when I say this...if I could afford it, they are the one band at this point in my life that I'd actually want to travel for and follow. Jeff Tweedy is on my list of heroes.
  • Birthdays. I have a couple of friends turning 30 this year and know those will be fun.
  • Mexico. I am so excited to go on a vacation that is strictly for the purpose of a vacation! I cannot wait to check out the beautiful beach where we are staying in the Riviera Maya.
  • Halloween. I have to work at an event that evening but it's still one of my favorite holidays. I love candy corn, caramel apple pops, and decorating my apartment for the occasion. I also can't wait to see what kind of costumes the Kewpie Girls will come up with for their little ones!
Happy Fall!

Hey -- what about the costumes the Kewpie girls come up with for themselves?? Aren't you looking forward to seeing those? I don't know if I'll have anything to dress up for, but if I do, I've decided I'm going as the Octo-Mom.

Of course Susan! I just haven't known any of us to dress up in a while. I think it's been at least two years for me especially since I normally have to work our Halloween event. I love the Octo-Mom idea!
