Joel on stage with his "invention exchange"

Last night I got to dork it up at the Cinematic Titanic live show at the Paramount. Cinematic Titanic is the new movie-riffing project by Joel Hodgson and the original MST3K cast. They currently have some DVD's and have been touring. It seriously was a dream come true. Ever since I was obsessed with MST3K in high school, I had always wanted to meet Joel.
The show was even better than I had expected. The "warm-up" guy, Gruber, was hilarious. J. Elvis Weinstein, "Tom Servo," and TV's Frank came out and performed some hilarious sketches with him.
Later Joel came out and did his "invention exchange" before showing the horrible movie, "The Dynamite Brothers." The cast was on stage during the movie to make fun of it. It was so good and interesting to watch them riff live after watching MST3K for so many years. They seemed to have fun, cracking up at each other's jokes. Joel does a lot of nodding his head to the music during the movie. Oh, did I mention that I was in the second row so I really got to watch all these cool little details!? I am so glad I went. If Cinematic Titanic visits your city and you are an MST3K fan at all, go!!! You will laugh and get your money' worth!
