Catching up-January photo a day 30 "best invention ever"

What would I do without glasses?!

And in the evening of the 30th, Bobby and I went downtown to the Alamo Ritz for the Austin premiere of "Mortified Nation."  (The building in the middle is the  Frost Tower.  Kinda crazy that it was not part if the skyline when I first moved to Austin.) The creators of Mortified flew out from LA for the film and we all did a Q&A together after with the audience. It was so fun! Bobby has some of it recorded but I haven't watched it yet. I "might" post it later. Afterwards we all went to my favorite bar/bakery, (because how many of those are there?) Easy Tiger. Good times but we cut out early because times hard to hang on a school night. The movie will be on Netflix soon!  Woo Hoo!

January photo a day 27 "something I bought"

I bought nothing today but we bought loads of fruit at the grocery store yesterday. Do you all think it's true that cutting the tops off strawberries helps them keep longer?

January photo a day 26 "fun stuff"

I ended up over-doing the "fun stuff" but it was fun while it lasted. I went on my first walk with Bobby and the dog and it was gorgeous outside. I hate to say it but 75 degrees! (Chance of sleet tonight)
Afterwards we ran some errands and went grocery shopping until I realized, oh yeah, I'm not all the way back yet.
I should have done more of this:
Work on my Mortified piece that is already overdo.

January photo a day 24 "my space"

My half of the couch (is cleaner and less matted down).

Snow Day!

Outside our back door, "snow" blankets the patio and yard.

All schools, including UT, closed today! So many happy kids and teachers in the city right now. My center even got to be closed today. Figures since I'm off from work. But honestly the issue around here is icy roads. Every road seems to be elevated or includes a flyover so they easily freeze and we are not equipped with much salt, etc. to take care if it. There have been hundreds of accidents since last night so I am thankful that I do not have to go out there. But more snow really would have been awesome. You always want what you don't have.  Am I right or am I right?

January photo a day 23 "bedtime"

Cold enough for a sweater

Big news around here is how cold it is (for Austin) and the precipitation! So far there's a two hour school delay due to icy roads.

This afternoon I was excited to see the tiniest bit of white stuff.
See in the back part of the seat. :)

Today was full of typing up diaries and cuddle time with Choji. Hoping for more of that tomorrow.
Yes, I did put on makeup for another day at home. I love not messing with makeup but sometimes it makes me feel better like the way a shower makes you feel better. I need to define my eyes dammit!

January photo a day 22 "nice"

Girl, I tell you what...I thought I was going to be making a trip to the emergency room this morning. I was woken up at 6:30 by some of the worst pain I've ever experienced. Cold sweats and lots of cursing and whining took place until the pain meds kicked in about an hour later. So I am loving me some "nice." I am so lucky to be getting a lot of it from friends and family. Amazing how healing just feeling loved and thought of is. And the bonus nice? Gifts :)
Like this book that showed up in the mail today from Kate. She knows me so well!
I love the illustrations.
And the way too many Tiff's Treats cookies from one of my friends at work.
My favorite tea from Susan. I want to go to Paris just so I can visit this tea shop.

Thank you ladies! These are such treats!

Most of my time at home this week has been spent working on my next Mortified piece for our Valentine's Day show. It is taking me forever so I'm thankful for some extra time on my hands. I've also watched Teen Mom 2 marathons and learned that there's a show called Paternity Court. SMH

Speaking of love and Valentine's Day, I busted out some scrapbooking paper, shopped my own knick knacks, and decorated our mantel for the holiday. It's fun to change things up in the house.

Thank you Target dollar bin for the garland and Goodwill for the two vases on the far left that I originally bought for our wedding. I stuck paper in the glass cylinders on the right.

What a great excuse for me to incorporate more of one of my favorite colors: pink.

All in all, like I said yesterday, I can't complain. The "nice" is awesome.

January photo a day 21"blue"

This was a neighborhood estate sale find and for some reason it spoke to me. Like what you like, right!?

Okay, I'm not gonna lie, I'm hurting today. Surgery was on Friday and I'm doing a pretty good job of taking it easy. Today I woke up with pain, had a decent first half of the day and then it got bad again. That's with an 800 mg ibuprofen. I caved and took a real pain med tonight and I'm still waiting for it to kick in. This whole time I've said I can't complain but now I'm complaining and getting frustrated. I've got five more days to rest but I am worried about returning to work on Monday. Okay, forcing positive thoughts now. Tomorrow is a new day! Good night and thank you ladies for the kind texts and emails!  It means the world! XOXO
