From The Onion: "The Dark Knight Tops Box Office" "That may be, but Mamma Mia opened number one in my heart."
After lots of sleep and ibuprofen I felt better from my "mini flu," and went to see Mamma Mia with Madelyn, Tobi, Tobi's gorgeous mother in law and friend Kelsey. I secretly really wanted to see this movie and thought that would surprise my Texas friends. You know what, it didn't surprise them at all. I still think maybe Kewpie Girl friends or other older friends might be a bit surprised. Yes? No? I guess my reputation just isn't what it used to be.
It had been a while since I'd seen a musical and felt Mamma Mia just threw me right in there. They immediately jumped into song-singing and dancing and I thought, "okay, we're really doing this." It was a fun movie (I never saw the play) and had a difficult time not singing along. I thought about a couple of things while I watched: 1. How lucky Susan is to have just returned from an incredible vacation to Greece and how Greece is close to the top of my travel destination wish list and 2. How I used to daydream about my life being a musical-especially after a summer in grade school of watching Grease 2 non-stop. I wanted my future high school to suddenly break into song, dance, and of course I'd have a boyfriend and we'd have duets. Yeah, life hasn't really gone that way...so far, but it's still fun to dream and sing along with Abba.

I am surprised you saw this!!!
I want to see it, but I've heard from others that it isn't good. I loved the musical the 1st time I saw it, but not as much the 2nd time. I had high hopes for the movie...
i will start breaking out in song and dance with you jessica... i love the idea!
