Mini Vacation Day 2

I woke up earlier than usual on the second day of my mini vacation, otherwise known as Sunday. Early enough that my mom had just gotten out of bed when I called her. We talked about my upcoming Columbia trip. I am so excited (and still a little nervous). My mom informed me that she froze some feijoada that she made so we can eat it when I'm in town. Feijoada, especially my mom's is one of my favorite meals. It's a traditional Brazilian dish. The best way to describe it is it's a black bean stew with pork, sausage, and served over rice with oranges on the side.

After a nice chat with my mom I went for a little walk. It felt good to be out in the morning. I saw a cute older couple in the neighborhood that had walked to Einstein's Bagels and were walking back with their bag of breakfast. I love that about where I live-despite no longer living downtown I am still within walking distance from many places.

Next vacation outing was meeting up with some friends at Cedar Door for Sunday Bloody Sunday-two bloody marys actually ended up being my lunch-yummy. We are going to try to make "Sunday Bloody Sunday" a first Sunday of every month tradition-bloody marys on a patio.
The rest of the afternoon was spent at the pool. I have to say that is one perk of living in an apartment complex. I take advantage of the pool quite often.

Now back to the real world-laundry, dishes, and vacuuming...and then work tomorrow.
