I need, like really need, a decent amount of sleep at night otherwise I feel like crap. My headaches get worse, allergies get worse, etc. I've had sleep issues for a while and it got to the point where I just couldn't take it anymore. It made me wonder how all you mothers do it out there with no sleep! God bless you!
I tried different things like no computer after a certain time, no caffeine after a certain time, working out, Sleepy Time Tea, and melatonin. Melatonin helped for a while but then no more so I finally went to the doctor about it and that's how I'm now on Ambien. I've been on it for a few months and overall it has been great. I still have sleep issues sometimes, but it has helped a lot. The one downside of Ambien is that on occasion I have talked in my sleep and don't remember it at all the next day.
A few months ago I snapped at Bobby about running the dishwasher. In my sleep I said, "Are there even enough dishes in there to run it?!" Bobby asked me about it the next day and I had no idea what he was talking about.
Well, it happened again last night. I woke up Bobby at 1:30 AM when I said, "What the hell is going on?!" He asked me what I was talking about and I didn't say anything else. I don't remember that at all. Yikes.
But at least I don't have a sleep disorder like comedian Mike Birbiglia. I want to read his book. If you haven't heard his piece on This American Life please listen to it. It is hilarious and scary at the same time. It's episode 361: Fear of Sleep.

I LOVE Mike Birbiglia! I've seen him a few times since moving to NYC. I'm typically not a huge fan of comedians, but I really like his style. I saw his show "Sleepwalk with Me" and I assume it's the same stuff as what is in the book. It was hilarious and awesome.
Susan, I am SO jealous!!! I even looked to see if he'd be in NYC when I was there! I really want to see him live. He was in Austin last year but I missed it. He's almost more of a funny storyteller than comedian I guess. His delivery is great. I'm a big fan! Yay, I'm glad you like him too! Oh, and now I crack up anytime I see a La Quinta because I think about how he pronounces it in his story.
