The much needed three day weekend ended up being a fun one!
Friday night Bobby and I had dinner at a place I never really envisioned myself having dinner, Buffet Palace. But now I truly know what I have not been missing, except for maybe the "chowmein surprise." Afterwards Bobby surprised me with going to see The Gourds at Threadgill's. It had been a while since I had seen them and I always have a good time at their shows.
Saturday I went to visit Shayna, Paul, and their new baby, Jaedon. He is a cutie. Later I went tailgating with Mitzi and Kristi for UT's first home game. I didn't have a ticket for the game which was probably a good thing since I had a bit "too much fun" and was wiped out by the time the game started.
Sunday I helped paint a fixer upper house that Bobby's been helping with, a little labor for Labor Day weekend. Later we met up with some of his friends and watched "Inglorious Basterds." It was good but I'm not so good with long or violent movies these days.
Today, Monday, we checked out a beautiful watering hole called Krause Springs with Chris and Yaz. I was the only one too chicken to try out the rope swing, but the water and sun felt great. Later I introduced Bobby to one of my favorite Austin restaurants, Green Mesquite. They have the most awesome hush puppies!
