From Cocktails to Garage Sales

Bachelorette vs. Bachelorette Dance-off

Garage Sale. I am so tired in this photo!

Friday night cocktail party. That's Madelyn to my right.

Bobby, me, and Lorena at the cocktail party Friday night.

I am still recovering from this weekend. Friday night Bobby and I met up with some friends at a cocktail party. People submitted drink recipes, the liquor store made them, and we got to sample and vote on them. One out of five were drinkable but the appetizers were pretty yummy.

Saturday morning Bobby and I had a garage sale...in the rain. We decided to have one at the last minute and considering this along with the weather, we did pretty well. I think the new A&E show "Hoarders" has had an impact on the both of us. We both recently decided to get rid of a bunch of "stuff" in order to declutter, hence the garage sale. I can't tell you how much weight is off my shoulders now that I have an organized bedroom closet. Unfortunately the show also led us to wonder if some of our garage sale customers were hoarders.

Saturday night I went to my first bachelorette party. At 33 I had never experienced the whole deal where the bachelorette wears a crown thing and has to do certain tasks while we are out. It was silly and fun. I have to say my favorite part of the evening was when we were all dancing and another bachelorette party arrived. I told our bride, Tara, that she should challenge her to a dance-off. Tara walked up to the other bride and basically told her that she had been served. It was awesome. Everyone circled around them to cheer on the dance-off.

Sunday I spent the day recovering from the previous night's festivities and was introduced to my first NFL Sunday with Bobby. Madelyn had warned me about this and she was right...boys put on their "football costumes" and watch all day/night long. Bobby wore his Packers jersey AND hat. I'm not sure I'll be participating EVERY Sunday, but it was a good excuse to lounge around, eat some junk food, and play some online Scrabble while the games were on.

Love garage sales. I'm starting to get back into them. Now I just need to convince my husband to get rid of stuff so that we can have one ourselves...

WHAT?! BOBBY IS A PACKERS FAN?! THIS CHANGES EVERYTHING. WE NEED TO TALK.

Buh buh buh BUM....
Buh buh buh buh BUM....
Buh buh buh buh buh BUH BUM...
BUH, BUH, BUH, BUH, BUH, BUH...
Ba-duh buh buh BUM!

(My interpretation of the NFL music. That was hard.)

Ha Kate! Yes he is. And do you know how he became a Packers fan? Because he liked their uniforms the best when he was a kid.

That's right Kate. Not only am I a Packers fan, but also own one share of the team. Packers rule! Bears still suck!

Kate-I'm really sorry that Bobby's first words to you include "Bears still suck!" I hope you still let us visit you in Chicago.
