I’ve been neglecting my blog! Here’s a bit of catch-up:
My brother came down for a long weekend visit. He hasn’t been here in about five years! We stayed very busy eating at all the fun Austin restaurants and experiencing some “Austin-y” things like the Congress Ave. bats, McKinney Falls State Park, Mt. Bonnell, Zilker Park, Master Pancake Theater at the Alamo Drafthouse, and improv at Coldtowne Theater. Pictures can be found by clicking on my Flickr badge.
I made my stage debut a couple of weeks ago with two nights of Mortified shows. I’ve never been so nervous in my life but they went so much better than I ever imagined. Out of six or seven performers each night, I was the only non-actor or comedian. They were hilarious and not to toot my own horn, but I still got some great laughs from the audience. Several friends came to witness my embarrassment and I truly appreciate it! It meant so much to have their support. This was just something I had to do to challenge myself. I believe that experiences like this help me evolve as a person. I was so grateful to be a part of a project that I have great respect for and have gotten much enjoyment out of. I learned so much about myself, the show, and performing in front of an audience. I strongly encourage you to go see a Mortified show if there’s ever one in your area!
