Another busy but wonderful weekend!

Friday night Lorena invited me over for a home cooked meal with her roommates. I got to hear some great stories and eat some yummy food! Afterwards I stopped at Cody and Madelyn's where Madelyn had just baked one of the best chocolate cakes I have ever had!

Saturday morning I woke up and met my friend Meghan and some other folks at Juan in a Million before heading off for one of my favorite things in Austin, E.A.S.T., or East Austin Studio Tour. There are a ton of art studios on the east side of town and once a year they all open up and people visit studio after studio. We hit a bunch and didn't finish until 5:30 when we decided to finish the tour with pizza at Eastside Pies. I bought a painting by a friend from home, Jeff Swanson. I've wanted one of his paintings for a very long time! Meghan and another one of our tour companions bought one of his paintings too!

Saturday night I hit up two birthday parties, one at Cedar Street and the other at Rio Rita's where I finally tried their mocha with ancho chiles! I loved it and can't stop thinking about it!

Sunday I went to my friend Jen's for a nice fall BBQ and met some great new people.

Overall a busy, but fun weekend!

My new painting hanging in my apartment. Jeff incorporates his photography into some of his paintings. This one incorporates a picture he took in Chicago of a half-way demolished building.

This sign was outside of Bolm Studios and I found it to be quite hilarious.

A mural outside of one of the studios we visited.

Our E.A.S.T. group figuring out our next stop.

Birdhouse Gallery, one of many cool studios/galleries in town.
