Save the Date!

Last year I participated in my first "arts and crafts fair." I had a little table set up and sold some cards. This year I'm doing it again! The festival is called AckMe which stands for Acknowledge Me. It will be on Saturday, December 6th, at Mohawk. Cool venue, but a challenge for me to park and move my stuff! Here is the information I have thus far...

We are excited to host the event this year at the Mohawk (912 Red River) on Saturday, December 6th, from 8 pm to 2 am. Like last year, festivities will include a Crafts Market, a Zine Fair, Local Record Labels, Vegan Food, Community Groups, and Local Music. Bands so far include The Persimmons, When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth, The Golden Boys, and Pataphysics. We are continuing to use AckMe as a platform raising awareness of homeless issues in Austin. This year's AckMe will involve a Winter clothing drive at the door--beanies and gloves for House The Homeless and toiletries to benefit ARCH (Austin Resource Center for the Homeless). Regular admission is $5 with a donation, while those without a donation item will pay $6.

There were some really cool booths last year...some great Christmas gift items! I'd love to see some familiar faces out there...shop around, listen to some bands, and help keep me company...oh yeah, and it's for a good cause!
