Home Sweet Hometown Day 4: Saturday

The Groom's Cake

My brother Daniel, me, and my sister-in-law Lauren. She's wearing the necklace my brother had made for their 1st wedding anniversary-a replica of the one our grandfather gave my grandmother. So, do my brother and I resemble each other at all?

My dad of "Father Daughter Moments" fame, me, and my mama.

Me and my cousin Lindsey

My brother Daniel, our cousin Ashley (Lindsey's sister) and me. Ashley always has good stories about the costume shop she works in and is always busy making a new Anime costume.

The cupcakes were so yummy!

Party favor-homemade turtle sugar cookies. On the back of the card was the explanation of how a turtle stands for longevity.

I loved the moscato wine so much at the reception that my aunt forced an entire bottle on me.

Yikes, I'm way behind on my Columbia visit posts. Saturday was my cousin Lindsey's wedding. She got married where she went to school, Columbia College in their little chapel upstairs and reception in the old gymnasium. The chapel was the perfect size for the quaint wedding. The reception was cute with BBQ from Smokin' Chicks and incredible tasting cupcakes from Sam's! I was amazed at how delicious they were. My cousin loves turtles so each guest got a little turtle cookie and the groom's cake was a turtle!

Saturday night I went out with my parents. My brother and sister-in-law joined us for a bit. We went to a fairly new bar and grill that some family friends opened. For you Columbia folks it's called Bengal's (as in the Bengal tiger-go Mizzou!) and is in Shiloh's old location. Shiloh moved to the old Katy Station location. Anyway, two of our family friends' kids run the bar and grill and I used to babysit them! Talk about feeling old! Anyway, we had a great time sitting outside and getting caught up on the Columbia gossip.

Oh my God, you look fantastic. I love the dress! Where did you get it? I have to find something to wear to Joe's cousin's wedding in August. You know, I don't get out on the town much, so I gotta make the most of the opportunity to dress up. ; )

Thanks Kate! I bought the dress at Macy's but Francesca's Collections also has it...it's on their website, at least it was.
