Charm Jewelry Class

Saturday was my Charm Jewelry Class at cute store Craft-O-Rama. Jennifer Perkins of Naughty Secretary Club taught the two-hour class. (See my raves about her in my previous posts!) Okay, so I've forgotten some of the terminology, but this class taught me how to turn beads into charms, how pretty much anything can be turned into a charm with a magic wand (Dremel), and how to work with jump rings. Jennifer had all kinds of charms and beads for us to work with. (I'll probably be buying some more of these treasures from her very soon.) We began by practicing making charms, then made a charm bracelet, ring, and earrings. I am really pleased with how they turned out. There will be more classes in August. Can't wait to see what they are!
The other cool part about this class was meeting the owner of Craft-O-Rama, Hayley. She was really sweet, talented with a sewing machine, and teaches some of the sewing classes at the shop. After talking to her I am going to sign up for the Sewing 101 class to figure out if sewing is for me and if I should invest in a machine.
After Tuesday and Saturday's classes I am officially hooked on jewelry making. Michael's has already gotten two visits from me this weekend! I also visited a bunch of thrift stores in my neighborhood and found some jewelry making treasures at Savers! I think I now have enough supplies to get started on a couple of new pieces. If you thought I wore crazy jewelry before...just wait!
