Even if you don't live in Austin you can stream KUT by going to http://www.kut.org/ and click on listen now. Check out two of my favorite bands today and tomorrow on KUT at 2:00!

Today (Monday) Denver, CO’s Devotchka sound more like an ensemble from overseas, with Eastern-European, Greek, Romani, Bolero and mariachi-flavored songs swirling in an eclectic pop blend. After self-releasing their recordings, Devotchka wrote the Grammy nominated soundtrack to Oscar winning film Little Miss Sunshine. New release A Mad and Faithful Telling is a mixed bag of glittering delights. Coming off their multiple performances from SXSW 2008, hear Devotchka live in Studio 1A Monday at 2:00 p.m. on Music with Jay Trachtenberg.

Tomorrow (Tuesday) Since their debut nearly 15 years ago, Dallas, TX based Old 97’s have been leading the alt-country scene with an equal affinity for both legendary country music and pure rock’n’roll. Most songs are written by singer/guitarist Rhett Miller, who has been working on his own solo career since 2002. Hear Rhett Miller tease songs from the upcoming release from the Old 97’s in a solo acoustic setting live from Studio 1B Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. on Music with Jay Trachtenberg.

(since you asked elsewhere...)
I got to see the Old 97's at Stubb's. They did a good show. Rhett does like swinging his hips about, though.
