August or more like Arghust

August is full of fun and stress!  Bobby and I had our first "date" Friday since our back to back family weekends.  We went to Cap City Comedy to see one of my new favorite comedians, Tig Notaro.  We saw her for the first time during SXSW and I've been watching the calendar and hoping for her return since then.  I laughed so hard that my jaw hurt and I was still cracking up the next day.  Check her out!

Saturday we went to see our friend Veronica's band play.  Veronica is Mitzi's sister and I love her band!  She is one of the back-up singers.
Goofing off with Shayna.  (That's Veronica in the back left.  Oh, and the Austin Motel sign outside too.  Kate and Joe stayed there once.)

Shayna, Mitzi, and me attempting to do Mitzi's request of a boy band pose.

After the show I went out with the girls.  I haven't been "out" to a bar downtown in a very long time.  It's sort of like watching "Jersey Shore" live.

Sunday morning Bobby and I went on our first bike ride together in our neighborhood.  I loved it!  We'll ride longer next time now that Bobby has bike gloves.

Sunday afternoon we went to our friends' Chris and Yaz's house for a kick-off party for Local Baby.  Yaz and her friend Tabatha started this locally grown baby food company and will begin selling it next weekend at the Austin Farmer's Market!

Okay, so why Arghust?  It is one of the busiest times of year with work and I seem to have even more going on this month than usual.  It's all good stuff for the most part and I can't complain, but I have to admit I'm already looking forward to Labor Day Weekend!  In addition to working on all kinds of projects at work:
  • I'm helping train staff all day Saturday.
  • Sunday I leave at 6 AM, dark and early, for a work trip to Seattle until Wednesday.
  • Catch up on work when I get back in town.
  • School starts which is always crazy.
  • I have to shadow an employee at a professional baseball park...yeah I know, wild.  But it's part of a professional development program that I'm participating in.
  • And the thing that is probably going to keep me nervous with a knot in my stomach until the end of the month...I was asked to perform in Mortified Austin again.  This is both exciting and scary.  It's been a little over a year since the last Mortified show I was in and I think I'm just as nervous even having a better understanding of what to expect.  I'm doing two shows, August 25th and 26th.  I'm sure you'll hear more about it from me on here.  Argh!
