Crap, it's July already?!

I was going to title this "Moving Sucks," but I'm feeling better about it all, but seriously, it's July already?!  June flew by and I've got a busy month ahead.  More random thoughts to follow:

• Moving really does suck but we have made good progress.  Everything should be unpacked by the end of this upcoming three day weekend.  There is some adjusting that has to be made like having an even smaller kitchen, weird bathroom storage, etc.  I think I need to design bathrooms.  I get that those little pedestal sinks are pretty but where do you put your stuff?  Okay, so we have a cabinet under the sink but still, I'd design bathrooms with plenty of useable space.
• We are now on the first floor right by one of the pools and sometimes I feel like we are living in that vacation home in the John Candy movie "Summer Rental."  You know, where people are constantly walking by to get to the beach and they have no privacy?  It's kind of like that, at least compared to the last place just a few yards away on the second floor. 
• Getting rid of stuff is liberating.  I'm taking my time to unpack so I can get rid of a lot of unnecessary things.  I'm becoming a regular at the Goodwill donation drop-off but it really feels good to not be weighed down by so much stuff.  I've kind of had to be my own hoarding counselor when it comes to parting with certain things, like the electric guitar and amp that I bought after college.  I donated them to our music instructor at work and I'm happy to see the guitar being used!  Turns out it works, I just can't play guitar.
• Bobby's sister and her family are coming down to Austin to visit in a few weeks.  I'm excited to meet her and his niece and nephew.  I'm nervous, however, because I've never hosted people that I've never met.  His sister seems to be as sweet as can be, but man I feel like a horrible hostess when I don't cook!  I'll be stocking up on sandwich meat and fruit to try to make up for that. 
• Bobby and I are heading up to visit my family the day his family leaves.  Crazy scheduling I know, but this is the longest I've gone not going home or seeing my family and I'm ready to be there right now.  The visit is already jam packed with seeing family and friends,  an Old 97's show, a wedding, the winery and more. 
• I'll post pictures of the new apartment in the next week or two.  Speaking of, I just reminded myself that I need to get my Diana camera photos developed! 
• And lastly, I need a haircut, bad.
