Cupcake toppers I made on top of my favorite cupcakes from Hey Cupcake!

Okay, so the photos above aren't really from a birthday party but from my Project Runway party last summer but I thought they looked birthday-like and I wanted an excuse to post pictures of some things I made that I would say turned out cute.
It feels like it's birthday season and I love it. We have three birthday parties (not to mention Memorial Day parties) to attend this weekend; two of them tonight! They all sound fun.
The first one tonight is a Four-Square birthday party. I don't think I've played that game since I worked with kids in CoMo. Let's keep our fingers crossed that the two things I fear don't happen: getting a tooth knocked out or have my glasses break.
The second one tonight is at an Indian food trailer called G'Raj Mahal. Austin seems to have an abundance of trailer eateries and most of them are delicious. I can't wait to try this one out.
Saturday night we are going to a bowling birthday party at my favorite bowling alley in town. It's old school and not all gussied up like some of the newer ones.
My mother's birthday is coming up very soon and I am at a loss on what to get her. I was going to get her a new cycling jersey to go with her new fancy bike until my dad said she already treated herself. My dad is no help in giving ideas. What's up parents?! Ideas anyone?
Happy Birthday to you if your birthday is near!

there is so much cool biking gear out there that would make great gifts! I know because my husband has all of it! I would suggest going down to mellow johnny's and looking around. I'm sure you'll find a cool mom gift! Otherwise, if she's into biking and she likes to read, the Book Catfish and Mandala is awesome. It's about a guy who bikes all over the world... among other things.
