Columbia Road Trip 2009

Bobby and I took our first long road trip to Columbia, Missouri and below are more photos than you ever wanted to see of our trip. I rarely if ever drive home and I'll tell you why, it's a freakin' long drive! The good news is that we did not kill each other.

We spent only three days in Columbia and I tried my best to show Bobby some of the highlights of the town. He ended up loving it and don't tell anyone but I think he wants to move there. The lush green grass and trees and temperatures in the 70's kind of helped after our endless triple digit Austin temps.

Some of the highlights of the trip:
  • Crazy Oklahoma city names.
  • My mom surprising us with one of my favorite Brazilian dishes called vatapa, egg rolls, and Brazilian cookies the night we arrived.
  • My mom giving Bobby the good blankets and room in the house. I guess I'm no longer the favorite.
  • Isle of Capri Casino in Boonville.
  • A trip to the Blue Note for the first time in over eight years.
  • Lunch at Uprise Bakery.
  • Dinner at Bangkok Gardens.
  • Lunch with Kelly and meeting baby Evelyn for the first time.
  • Showing Bobby the Liquor, Guns, and Ammo sign at Shakespeare's.
  • Dinner at Flat Branch.
  • Goodwill shopping.
  • Twin Lakes.
  • Watching the hummingbirds on my parents' deck.
  • Checking out all the beautiful improvements on campus.
  • Cooper's Landing although Bobby wasn't really feeling it. How could you not enjoy hanging out by the river?
  • Waking up on the trip back to Texas only to hear Bobby in his highest pitch voice singing along with the Jayhawks.

My dad made everyone do shots.

Watching the hummingbirds outside was entertaining.

I was proud to show Bobby where I went to school and surprised I remembered where everything was.

Kelly and Evelyn. Evelyn couldn't keep her eyes off Bobby! I was like, back off Evelyn, he's mine!

Overall it was a great trip and I'm so glad that Bobby ended up loving Columbia. I am quite proud to claim it as my hometown.

Evelyn hearts Bobby! However, she realizes he's your man and has agreed not to pursue him any further :)

It was great seeing you guys! I only wish we could have seen you more while you were here. I love that Bobby liked Columbia, and I'm a total proponent of you guys moving here!!!
