Weekend Recap

There was a fire there I promise! It disappeared in the pictures! Anyway, me at the "Trailer Park" where we roasted homemade marshmallows for smores.

Lorena roasting her marshmallow.

"Smores for Two" at Treat gave us graham crackers, chocolate and different flavored homemade marshmallows. We got butterscotch, vanilla, peppermint, and raspberry.

Trying out the night vision on the new camera!

Saturday night self-portraits.
Despite some chilly weather (I know Kate, we're talking chilly for Austin), this weekend was pretty good! I tried to take it easy in preparation for the music portion of SXSW starting this week, my adult spring break if you will.
Friday night I met Lorena, Madelyn, Cody, and Jarrett for some yummy feijoada at one of my favorite restaurants, Sao Paulo's. For the first since I've been going there we got some crappy service, but the good food and laughing so hard that I cried made up for it.
Saturday I went to the Blanton Museum to see the "Birth of Cool" exhibit. It was an exhibit of mid-century art, architecture, music, and furniture...right up my alley! I can't tell you how many paintings and Eames chairs I fell in love with. I'm proud to say my Harry Bertoia Diamond Chair was mentioned in the exhibit. Yay for my grandma for taking care of those chairs! After the exhibit I walked to the Blanton Cafe for a cookie. The food looked so good. I can't wait to go back for lunch sometime!
After the museum I watched as much of the Missouri vs. Baylor Big 12 Championship game as I could before going out to dinner. Missouri won, yay! I met my friend Meghan and some of her friends at KG Sushi Train. It was my first time there and would go back for sure! You sit at a bar and the sushi travels in front of you on a conveyor belt where you take what you want. It was fun! After sushi I came home and watched the Wendall Baker Story and experimented with the new camera with some self portraits.
Sunday I went to an early showing of "He's Just Not That Into You," at the Alamo where they now have a brunch menu! I had a yummy breakfast BLT called The Breakfast Club. I enjoyed the movie despite choking up a few times. Next I got a pedicure. After some Sunday chores I met Lorena out at Treat, a dessert airstream trailer, where we roasted marshmallows. The perfect ending to a chill and fun weekend. SXSW, here I come!

okay, so maybe I have been making jabs about your weather too much... btw, I am no tough girl - I am a total cold weather wimp - it's just that the vocab differs, you know, what one would call "chilly" or "cold" and so forth.

I must say it is really hilarious looking how there appears to be no fire there. You girls are cuh-ray-zee.

GO TIGERS GO!!!!!
